About this camera.
The Helios 44-2 MMZ Version 1 is the early Soviet-era production variant of the iconic 58mm f/2 standard lens, made at the Minsk Mechanical Plant (MMZ — Минский Механический Завод). Unlike the more common later versions, this Version 1 features all-Russian Cyrillic text markings on the barrel — a hallmark of the earliest production runs. Known for its distinctive swirly bokeh and warm rendering, it remains one of the most sought-after Soviet lenses for film and digital use. This unit is in very good clean condition — fully tested and functioning correctly.
