About this camera.

A beautifully preserved example of one of the most respected twin-lens reflex cameras ever made. The Yashica Mat-124G is the final and most refined model in Yashica's TLR lineup — a camera that has earned its reputation among medium format shooters for its sharp Yashinon lenses and smooth handling. This particular unit is in excellent cosmetic condition with the shutter, transport and focus all working correctly, ready to load with 120 film and shoot straight away.

Condition

  • Cosmetic: Minor signs of use consistent with age. Body, leatherette and chrome present beautifully. Comes with original case, lens cap and an empty 120 spool.
  • Functional: Fully working — shutter fires accurately at all speeds, aperture blades clean, focus smooth, film transport and frame counter working correctly. Light meter untested — consider non-working. Light meters on these are generally old and inaccurate, so using an external meter (handheld, phone app, or Sunny 16) is recommended regardless.

In short

A genuine workhorse of medium format photography — equally at home with portraits, street, landscape or square-format experimentation. For anyone already comfortable metering externally, this is one of the most rewarding TLRs you can own.
