Few cameras earn a place on a shelf as easily as the Yashica Electro 35 GSN. The Electro 35 line launched in 1966 and went on to sell somewhere north of eight million units, making it one of the most successful rangefinders ever built. The GSN arrived in 1973 as the final refinement — hot shoe, revised electronics, and that unmistakable slab-sided chrome body with the fast Yashinon-DX 45mm f/1.7 staring out the front. It was the camera that put a genuinely good f/1.7 rangefinder in ordinary hands, and it is still the one people picture when they picture a seventies rangefinder.
