About the product.
I bought this camera in mid-2026 along with a F2. This camera has been film tested by me for the past 2 months. This camera has been serviced by Mr. Rana Patra in Kolkata. The camera is funtional on all fronts (except the AEL button). The camera comes with DE-2 viewfinder which is clean. The camera is fitted with a clean Type-K focusing screen. The light meter is accurate and functional. Film runs smoothly through it. Exposure compensation and ISO dials work as intended. So does the self time, mirror lockup and DOF buttons. The light meter LCD display is dim, and sometimies difficult to read, but it is always possible to understand the +/- signs and adjust accordingly while shooting. It is a tank of a camera to be shooting with, I have enjoyed my time with this. The camera will come with a camera case and strap. A few things to note - a. The body shows heavy signs of usage, all of which are superficial and does not interrupt the shooting experience one bit. The original owners was a passionate photographer. b. The Auto Exposure Lock button is missing and has only a leather trim covering the button, it does not work and has no effect. c. The film rewind lever is not original, but a repacement which can foul with the lock, everthing has been adjusted to make ensure that such does not happen during shutter cocking operation, but something to keep a note of. d. The ISO dial is a bit hard to use and needs more force than one would think to lift up and turn, but it is possible and it does work. e. The meter LCD is a bit hard to read, so a small piece of polarised film has been included/installed in the camera to aid legibility, but this is kept in place by being sandwiched by the prism.
