Help Centre Selling on FCI If we disagree

If we disagree

What happens when a finding goes against you, and what to do if you think we got it wrong.

If you disagree with what we found

Every finding comes with photographs, the specific listing answer it contradicts, and the name of the person who inspected it.

If you think we got it wrong
Reply within 7 days
  • In writing, to the finding itself. Tell us what you think we got wrong.
What happens next
A second person reviews it
  • Someone who did not carry out the original inspection. Usually within 3 working days.

If it keeps happening

  • One wrong call is a mistake and we treat it as one — the item comes back free and nothing goes on your account.
  • If it becomes a pattern, we will ask you to re-check your listings before they go live, and return shipping moves to you at cost.
  • A persistent pattern can lead to selling access being suspended. Anything already sold and paid is unaffected, and you can always appeal in writing.
  • Deliberately misrepresenting an item is different, and will lead to an account ban straight away.

When a payout isn't final

Once we've paid you the sale is final, except where:

  • You knowingly hid a fault, or answered a listing question falsely, and it was not something our inspection could reasonably have caught.
  • The item is counterfeit, stolen, or was not yours to sell.
  • The serial number or identifying marks have been altered or removed.
