Listing your product
How to describe your product, what it costs to sell through us, and how listings behave once they're live.
Writing the listing
You write the first description. We test against the same description you have provided. Describing a fault costs you far less than hiding one.
- Photograph the actual item — every side, the lens against light, and the serial numbers.
- State what you have tested and what you have not. "Shutter fires at all speeds by ear, meter untested" is a good line.
- List exactly what is in the box. Caps and cases count.
- Name known faults. Sticky slow speeds, haze, dents, dead meters — buyers here expect to know these beforehand.
- We may edit for clarity, reshuffle photos and correct a grade after testing. We will not quietly change your price.
What it costs
- No sign-up fee, no listing fee, nothing for the inspection.
- Commission is 5–10% of the sale price, set by category. The exact rate for your item is shown to you while you list it.
- It only applies once the item sells. A listing that never sells costs you nothing.
- Shipping is billed separately at Delhivery's actual cost.
Unsold listings
- Listings stay live until sold or you withdraw them. No expiry, no fee.
- You can change the price yourself at any time, although that will mean re-approval from our side based on any edits.
- Withdraw instantly, as long as the item has not already sold.
Common questions
What can I list?
Film and digital cameras, lenses, and camera accessories.
Can I sell to you outright instead of listing?
Yes. We still buy products directly. It is less money than a marketplace sale, and immediate. Send us the details of the item with a few photos and your expected price at sell@filmcam.in
Who sets the price?
You do. We will tell you what comparable items have sold for and where we think yours sits.
Can I list from outside India?
No. The item has to ship from an Indian address.
What if my item is lost on the way to you?
The buyer is refunded in full and the order cancelled. Shipping is not insured, and the courier's liability is nominal — pack carefully and declare the value on the label.
Do you take a cut of shipping?
No. Shipping charge is passed through at the rate our account is charged.
